Congenital hypothyroidism
Witchywoo58,
Congenital hypothyroidism means the patient was born without a thyroid gland. If you were congenitally hypothyroid it would have been obvious in the first few months or years of life.
If you post your recent thyroid results with the ranges (figures in brackets after results) members will advise whether the low dose you are taking is adequate.
I was born with a type of dwarfism caused by congenital hypothyroidism although I'm the top end in height 1.34 I also have curvatures upper & lower sing patella displaying etc I have been on a low dose of thyroxine for about 8 years however they are having to treble the dose I can't remember the symptoms I have put on a lot of weight despite having no appetite I have gone from sleepy 4 hours or less to sleeping the clock round and seats already been through the menapause I'm 58
Correction it should have said dysplasia in both knees I have other condition memory impairment Osteoarthritis Angina all can be made worse by thyroid problems I'm told.
Witchywoo58,
If your dose is being trebled you must be very under medicated.
Symptoms of hypothyroidism include weight gain, fatigue, unrefreshed sleep, brain fog, etc.
