...just added a 'bump' to get this one noticed... I hope someone can advise. Not sure my understanding is good enough yet...
Hi
I have suffered from anxiety in the past, which has returned since I've learnt that I am sub-clinical Hypo. I have lots of symptoms of Hypo so doc gave me low dose Levo to start with.
I think I may have experienced a Hyper swing (Hashi) last week in which I was anxious, couldn't sleep, nauseous and have lost half a stone in weight from being in a place where I couldn't lose an ounce previously.
My question is - when I start taking the Levo and if I experience another Hyper swing - does that mean that my anxiety levels will raise even more? I find this a bit worrying. Hope someone can advise.
Thanks in advance

Exactly what I had. I had to basically go comletely hypo before I could take Levo and even then it gave me palpitations and extreme anxiety despite my tsh being high and my t4 and t3 levels low. The only way I could solve and still do is by taking adrenal supllement (nutri adrenal extra - you will see plenty of posts related to this) and getting t3 on prescription . I think hashi often get this as its due to inflammation whilst the gland is being destroyed (uncontrolled release of t4/3 hormone from cells as they are detroyed by immune system), coupled by a build up of t4 not being converted to t3.
Should add, anxiety gets better over time when gland is destroyed completely so there is no inflammation to flare up. But you still need to ensure good t4 and t3 balance to stay sane.
Yes, I suspect Inwas subclinical for about 10 years. Was always cold, tired, fat, depressed, dry skin, the usual.... Plus I am type 1 diabetic so it goes hand in hand.
