Aching Joints

I have decided to take the thyroid 11 test fro Blue Horizon. Can anyone tell me whether the vacutainer or the home finger prick method is more efficient? My body aches all the time, I needed to lift my arms above my head earlier today and it was a real struggle.

Tabbymaple What do you mean by 'more efficient'?

Do you mean is the vacutainer test more accurate than the fingerprick test?

Yes is it worth getting the vacutainer test over the finder prick test?

I've done both and I wouldn't say one is more accurate than the other. They use an accredited lab and as long as there's enough blood in the microtainer for the fingerprick test I can't see there's a problem. For me the fingerprick test is convenient because I can't get blood drawn where I live, GP surgery wont do it, the hospital is 60 miles away so that's very difficult for me as a non-driver but they want a GP referral even to draw blood for a private test although I offered to pay.

So really, whatever is convenient for you, I don't think there's anything in it as far as accuracy is concerned.

Thank you. I am lucky in that the treatment room based at the health centre has agreed to take bloods for the horizon test, I was very surprised to say the least as they are not particularly helpful.
