I'm starting to feel I'm maybe...

I'm starting to feel I'm maybe going a bit crazy...or maybe a tad scared or maybe a tad confused. When you've convinced yourself its all down to the thyroid and then a doctor says it's not...... blah, blah, blah. So then you wonder what it could be down too??? And that's where the craziness starts.

Why is my body starting to fail me ??!!

😩

Well, the moral to that story is - don't listen to doctors! They will swear black is white before they will admit that the thyroid could be responsable for anything!

Last time a doctor said that to me, I said, well, what is it down to? And he just shrugged (which really, really annoyed me!). So, I said, well, you'd bloody better find out, then, hadn't you! Do some tests or something.

What he did was refer me to a rather good - although not perfect - endo in Paris.

Having thyroid problems does make you feel as if you are crazy. And then having doctors being uncooperative is very confusing. I do wonder if they don't do it deliberately. But, if you were on a decent dose of thyroid hormone replacement, the one that suits you, then you would probably be far more lucid than him! :)

Ha...too true! We shall see. It's only been 2 weeks, too soon to see any results yet

Well, keep reading here, and you'll soon be teaching your doctor a thing or too!

I have hence why it is down to checking my t3/t4 next blood test although she feels that the nhs won't check it

The NHS probably won't. You'd have to do it privately.

I've thought this for a long time Hidden , but if they treat our thyroid's properly, doctors would do themselves out of a job! We can't have that, can we?

Thanks for information Hidden . There has to be a reason for all this non-treatment of thyroid troubles.

Tateanne you are not crazy....?!! They are narrow minded doctors...they have no clue unless lived through this themselves!!! I had an endocrinologist in the beginning who would love to tell me that I could only have xyz symptoms from thyroid problems..nothing else...I felt dumb and never wanted to tell her anything again. As time went by I grew worse .my antibody number got higher whilst my tsh would wildly swing back and forth. Between hypo and hyper ..I developed low vit.d..low b12.tachycardia...and grew 5 nodules..endo was useless. I switched to an ENT. I was so sick in the end there before thyroidectomy I was having symptoms that i don't even or can't even express to you in words. Couldn't drive anymore. No longer went to church and thought I was dying. I had a TT. .and within a week felt better. Some of those symptoms have disappeared. I am still healing if you want to inbox me I can give you more details ..my heart goes out to people with thyroid issues. I had hashimotos and cancer...but was treated like I was coocoo ...you are not crazy.
