Thanks Rapunzel! As a newish soul here, there is much I don't quite get yet! I have found the abbreviations explanation list now, have to keep reverting back and forth to it though, then, as it's probably me, I find myself on another site altogether! Oh well. Thanks anyway, why are doctors reluctant to prescribe certain things connected with thyroid probs? Or do some, and not others? Xxx
A good place to start would be Thyroid UK, who manage the forum, through Health Unlocked. On a grey strap near the top of the post in the middle is their logo and if you clock on that, you'll be directed to their information site which gives lots of useful stuff.
A typical GP knows a good deal less than many of the wise thyroid patients here, who you will come across if you stick around. Unfortunately, many endocrinologists know little more. There are notable exceptions such as Dr Kendrick. You could do worse than just look around the forum at previous questions. If one catches you eye then as you read it through, look to the right hand side at the top of that post and if questions in a similar vein have been asked, you can click on those. To go back to the list of posts clock in posts, in the grey strap on the left hand side.
It will help members who might want to offer their experience if you complete your profile with a little about your particular condition, which you can do by clicking on the 'face' at the lhs of your name and there you have it.
Thyroid UK's main website is here thyroiduk.org
