Mandy72,

Until your FT3 level is good you are likely to experience a slump a few hours after taking your first dose. Take your second dose an hour to 90 minutes before you slump.

Mandy72,

In what way, awful? Does it happen every time you take a T3 dose? Does it wear off after a while? If so, how long after?

ive been feeling ok for about 4 hours after my morning 20mcg

yesterday about 2 hours after taking it i started hurting all over, took paracetamol hoping it would help but it didnt

i ache from head to foot like ive been hit by a bulldozer

today it started about an hour after my morning dose.........im thinking i maybe need more in the morning

last year when i was on tirmoel and that is 5mcg stronger i was taking 25, 25, 12.5

Mandy72,

We already know that you were undermedicatd on 40mcg and you probably need around 50mcg. Try a higher dose in the morning and see whether it helps. If you don't tolerate a higher dose in the morning try splitting into 3 doses, taking the 2nd and 3rd doses 90 minutes before you experience a slump.

ill do an increase, so i dont have to try and cut the 20mcg would i be ok mixing liothyronine and tiromel?

that way i can do tiny increase by only cutting a tablet in half rather than trying to 1/4 it as its just not possible

i can then increase 10 to 12.5 which should effect too me much

Mandy72,

If you feel okay with Tiromel and Mercury Pharma it should be fine to take both.

is it possible where i was taking such a small dose (5mcg 4 times a day) and now increased that my body is just sucking the T3 straight from me?

i feel ok for a short while then the slump hits

25mcg 12mcg 10mcg

really feel zapped like my body is crying out for much more

Mandy72,

It doesn't matter whether you took 1 x 20mcg or 4 x 5mcg, you were under medicated. Once you are optimally medicated you are unlikely to experience slumps in between doses.

Try an extra 10mcg with your second dose.

yesterday i decided to increase my morning dose to 30mcg and felt better than i have for a long time, i walked round 3 big shops and felt semi normal and could breath, had my slump later than normal so took 10mcg and didnt feel any better for it so took another 10mcg 90 mins later and had a semi normal feeling, going to hold for a few days and do 30mcg morning and maybe 25mcg later

my heart rate has increased but no palpitations or uncomfortable feelings
