Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with Thyrotoxicosis last November after suddenly displaying all the classic symptoms - weight loss, anxiety, tremors, muscle twitches etc
My Doc described Carbimazole and it seemed to work pretty well, by January my T4 levels had reduced from 48 to a steady 14 and I feel okay.
Last month I finally got to see an endocrinologist and they're sending me for an uptake scan because they suspect it's Graves Disease due to family history and TRAB level of 3.9
Please excuse the long post - in the 6 moths or so before I had these symptoms I was back and forth to the doctors with pains in my hands, feet and elbows, I was checked out for carpel tunnel syndrome, tendonitis, rheumatoid arthritis and a few other things but in the end I was told "sorry, we've got no idea what it is." When the thyroid symptoms kicked in all the joint pain disappeared.
Now that my T4 levels are normal again the joint pain is back (with the added bonus of a frozen shoulder!) I've been googling and have found quite a few mentions of hypothyroidism and joint pains but nothing that quite matches what I've experienced.
Has anyone on here had anything similar?
Thanks
Amanda
