Before and after giving up wheat - photos
Most of them had the tell-tale necklace wrinkles on their necks indicating they may have thyroid issues. I wonder if they have ? So many looked far better in the after shots
Giving up wheat many years ago revolutionised my life!
I regained the svelte body of my youth, acquired loads of energy and much more importantly, got my brain back!
Cannot recommend more highly ditching wheat for good health.

Can someone explain the difference between giving up wheat and giving up gluten - what "extra" things can you eat. Looking at those I am very tempted.
My understanding is that there are a large number of proteins in wheat which we find difficult to digest. Of these, gluten is the most problematic and appears to be associated with a wide range of chronic and autoimmune illnesses as well as obesity. When people go "gluten free", they often switch from wheat products to gluten-free packaged foods made from other grains which may cause their own problems. Refined carbohydrates of all kinds cause sugar spikes and inflammation which can contribute to ill health.
The Paleo diet is a grain free diet which involves changing the way you eat, away from processed foods and instead eating whole foods, mostly meat, veg and healthy fats. Lots of info and Paleo recipes online. Here's the link to the Paleo Autoimmune Diet which is quite strict initially but can help identify specific food sensitivities:

Having said all that, cutting out wheat alone and replacing it with veg and fats may well make a difference.
