Question re getting meds via NHS

Hi all, hope you had a good weekend.

A question re finding a private endo; I'm looking to go down the T3 route. Assuming treatment is successful, can I then receive it on the NHS?

I'm seeing posts on here re funding and how things are changing for patients.

NorfolkRose,

It will depend on your GP and CCGs attitude to T3.  Some insist on recommendation from a NHS endo, others won't agree to prescribe T3 at all.

I see. So maybe be best prepared to go it alone!

That's how I did it. Saw private endo...never asked for t3, but felt rubbish on t4. After a few months he said I needed t3 and prescribed. He wrote to nhs GP and so far they haven't questioned it and put it on a repeat. Good luckx
