Got my levothyroxine in the post, when shoul I take it?

From tomorrow I will be taking it every morning half hour before breakfast. When shall I take todays dose?

I would just wait till tomorrow and you take your first dose when you get up with one glass of water. On this forum it is usual to recommend approx 1 hour after taking levo so that food will not interfere with the uptake.

Any supplements etc I take at lunchtime as most have to be taken with food.

If you find taking it a.m. a problem you can always take your dose at bedtime, as long as you've last eaten about 2 to 2.5 hours before with one glass of water too. If you've had protein it's best to wait 2.5 hours.

Before you have a blood test you have to leave around 24 hours since the last dose and have the earliest appoint. So if taking a night-time dose you miss this dose and take after blood test. You can also take the night dose as usual.

Orangepie, you can take Levothyroxine any time of day or night as long as you take it with water 1 hour before or two hours after food and drink, 2 hours away from other medication and supplements, and 4 hours away from iron, calcium, vitamin D and oestrogen.
