Hi, another post (sorry - am new to this!). Does a Hashimotos goitre go away once you are taking Levo? Mine has, mostly but is still visible on one side. Just wondered!

Does a Hashimotos goitre go away?
VickyWhitlock, Levothyroxine may help reduce the goitre but probably won't completely eradicate it.

I have Hashimoto's. I was told it is a chronic autoimmune disease. You never get rid of it, only learn to manage it.
The GPs ignored all my classic symtoms, saying it was depression, although how depression can make you lose your eyebrows I have no idea. Finally when I pointed out my goitre, he agreed to test my blood and I was very ill with permanant nerve damage to my feet.
The good news is that my goitre went away quite quickly, back to its normal shape, once I was on Levo, so I hope yours does too.
