Hi went to the doctors with re occurring sore throat, gained a lot of weight. Had bloods, thyroid came back 6.3, borderline receptionist said, repeat blood in 6 weeks.
I feel rubbish at moment, wondered if I should wait or insist I see a doctor.
Gained a lot of weight, persistent sore throat, having hot flushes, feel jittery, keep getting pins and needles in hands, craving sugar, yawning all day are these symptoms or not?
Thanks in advance if anyone replies.

MissT21, if that is your first abnormal TSH result your GP will want to rule out infection or virus elevating TSH and that's why you've been asked to repeat the test in 6 weeks.
Arrange an early morning blood test when TSH is highest and fast (water only) as TSH drops post-prandially.
Your symptoms probably are due to hypothyroidism but pins and needles in hands/feet can be due to low B12 so ask for B12 and folate to be tested too.

Hello MissT,
Welcome to our forum and sorry hear you are feeling unwell.
Great advice from Clutter above.. just remember to ask for thyroid antibodies TPOAb & TGAb to be tested as well.
