I just got my rT3 results back from Genova, coming in at 0.31 nmol/L. I had fT3 done on the same day, with the result coming back as 4.3. Trouble is, I can't remember what the units for this one are and am finding it hard to calculate the ft3:rT3 ratio.
Can anybody help, please?

Was the FT3 done by Genova also? If so it would be probably be pmol/L and if you use the STTM site then it works at at 13.9. stopthethyroidmadness.com/r...
Thanks, shambles. No, fT3 was done on NHS but same day as rT3 blood taken. Looks like I have a way to go with my fT3 if I'm going to get a better ratio!
hose, your ratio is a bit high in accordance to the STTM page which sites a ratio of over 20 is a healthy one but it's not too bad. My is 7.5 on T4 only and I feel OK.
There is such a lot written about rT3, everyone makes it, thyroid healthy or not. I have dropped my T4 back and feel better but as everyone on the forum says, each to their own and what works for one may not work for another
Your T4 to T3 ratio seems healthy or certainly more healthy than mine, so that seems a good. I guess it all depends on how you feel. I now go by the that and occasionally check my BP and temperature to make sure that they are somewhere near where they should be.
Hose, to get an accurate rT3:FT3 ratio I think you need to have them tested together by the same lab. You'll need the unit measurements to calculate a ratio using the STTM link.
