Dr Peatfield is sometimes mentioned on here and I see he has a surgery in Surrey. It says he is practising as a nutritionist and cannot prescribe prescription drugs. I noticed his dob is 1936. Does anyone know if he has now retired?

Dr Peatfield retired ?
Tessica, he hasn't retired but has been recovering from a bout of ill health and is expected to resume work in January.
I have an appointment with him in Malvern, Worcestershire next week. I cant wait to see him and get more help..things are getting worse despite taking vits etc. I know he can now longer prescribe but I have spoken with people and he has been a great help. Finding out wha. is wrong with me will be a great help. Could be thyroid or adrenals and this will affect which meds I end up buying or getting via GP if I am lucky.Diagnosed Hashis but TSH etc in range accoriding to GP and Endo. I have gone to another GP as the other one says she cannot treat high antibodies (this is not what it says on NHS website). I used Genova for a cortisol saliva test ..very high cortisol all day and evening and the urine thyroid test, which showed T3 issues. The tests were very good and clear to use and Genova were very good. The results went to Dr Peatfield and he made notes for me.
I'm very intrigued to know where you see Dr Peatfield In Malvern as I live there and would love to be able to have an appointment with him.
Thanks Hezziet this is very helpful to know. I have never been tested for adrenals and normally only have tsh tests. I am desperate for someone to look at the wider picture because I feel in pain all the time and fatigue is chronic. My GP will not refer me to an Endo. Will be tested this month for thyroid as GP has reduced Levo. Thinks I am over medicated. I am going to look at Genova. I very much feel though that GP will poo poo any results. Years ago I took in results of a Vit test I had ordered and a GP at surgery just dismissed the results outright and said to ignore it. As if the Testing company was all a scam. Would be interested to know your outcome of visit to Dr P. Thanks again.
I had some Genova tests but my GP was very dismissive but I found they gave me an idea what was happening and what to be aware of and stop me worrying so much! A private doctor may look at them differently but I don't know.
Genova were very good in their communications and sending out results quickly and I found the test instructions easy to follow. I went to a younger GP at the practice as the other GP although testing for antibodies and vits said she cou)ld do nothing. The new one was interested in the results ( I pointed out that Genova a were used by the BUPA Spire Hospitals so a bonifida testing company, she did know of them), but she wad not sure what to do. She read Dr Peatfields notes but said she did not know about certain things he had mentioned..I think I knew more about the Thyroid than she did. But to her credit we agreed I would see Dr Peatfield then go back to her..but her parting words were I cant promise anything! They are all concerned about my medicated higb blood pressure (say they cant find a reason for it), reminded her that it is linked to high antibodies. I saw private endo..but many of them appear to work for the NHS so tow the line..nothing he can do and antibodies aren't often an issue apparently. I know its a pain but can you see another GP at the practice? I went to the practices website and tead through each doctors profile.
When I showed the Genova tests to GP I mentioned that they are used by the Spire BUPA hospitals to preempt her poo pooing them..she had heard of them which helped. They appear to not believe in adrenal problems..(after some adice in a post that i put on the forum I have refrained from self medicating for thyroid until I am sure what the issue is as it might be adrenals and I could mske things worse), dont know why as its part of our bodies so therefore can go wrong. The new GP was interested in adrenal tests but not sure how much she was huoumuring me. Had never heard of urine thyroid tests, and I am not sure myself how accurate they are (believe saliva tests best but not available in UK),..but it did quite clearly show up that I am not converting T3 properly. I am just doing everything I can to get some treatment. There might be an enzyme issue but this meeds further investigation..but gives me hope. Last GP test results found very high B12 now (below range initially), as I am taking sublingual B12. The GP who phoned me (whom I had never seen), suggested coming off it. Told him not likely ..keeping me going and that what is in my bloods is not necessarily in my cells, to which the new GP agreed when we discussed it. The people on this forum know more about the thyroid, vitamins etc than any practitioner I have seen. Can you see another GP in the practice? I looked at the practice website and the profiles of each GP. Good luck..will keep you posted...
