Quite often cortisol is LOW when we have low thyroid. DR. Bergman is saying we have low thyroid because cortisol is high and this is because of many things - gut health, stress etc.

Anyone else watch the video and have some questions.

Another question i have = does the addition of thyroid medication act as a simple fix to help restore health. Rather than focus on all the other stuff he talks about.

I suppose the combination of better diet and thyroid meds should bring improvements. I think Ray Peat certainly thinks this.

I've been tested and found to have low T3, I have been researching and looking at peoples history and see repeatedly that people get worse as they medicate, so I have decided not to.

I am juicing and eating organic, using Simply Natural minerals, probiotics, fermented foods,Vit D, Vit C, iodine, magnesium. I muscle test for all amounts I should take and I feel so much better already, I am reclaiming my health naturally as it should be. I am avoiding Doctors as they just make me worse!

It is always good not to be too dogmatic because the causes of thyroid problems are as many and varied as human beings are many and varied.

I could juice until Armageddon is on the horizon and it would not heal my thyroid. Why? Because I don't have one!

Then you have the case of the person who has a thyroid but most of it has shrunk to a little, useless blob. Why? Because Hashimoto's has destroyed it.

Next, we take the case of an individual with a faulty DI02 gene. That person will not be able to convert the T4 even if their thyroid is hunky-dory and producing everything it should produce.

The last example I shall quote is the person whose pituitary fails to produce the TSH which should prompt the thyroid to release thyroid hormones, possibly due to a tumour.

I am sure that individuals could tell a myriad of other stories to illustrate how very NOT simple the answer can be.

Whatever else we might do, we really should fall into the same pit in which most Endos and GPs are floundering.

Well done, though, for finding a,solution which seems to be working for you, and thank you for sharing it, because if just one person sees it and it helps them, it makes the whole thing worthwhile.
