Why is it that you painstakingly type out a post , only for it to vanish into the ether never to be found again ?
So frustrating .

PP, and Murphy's Law makes sure it's only long posts which disappear into cyber space
Murphys second law says if it it goes wrong it will go wrong in the worst possible way. This disappearing script I thought was me tapping something by mistake.
Haha ... that's because when we are very hypothyroid everything is soooo difficult and it is soooo easy to believe EVERYTHING & the UNIVERSE is against you. ! ! ...
It took me THREE tries of an email to get a request off to my endo ! ! !
What is going on ... ? ? / ! ... Lol.

You are certainly not alone.
I find that because I think as I write......by the time I get to number 3 it's nothing like the first one!!............certainly Hypothyroid!!

Do you think we are in an exclusive club?
If so it's one I would prefer to opt out of š±. Pp
Always too late, but I'd recommend typing posts in any of the numerous text editors or word processors available - such as Notepad, Word, etc., and saving it locally. Save often!
Then copy from that document and paste into the box.
Helvella , in a perfect world I would be able to do this.
I'm afraid cut and paste is outside my remit.

If you were here right now, I could explain fully in five minutes. But trying to do so by posts or messages just isn't going to work.
Helvella .. If we were all HERE in the right NOW ... we wouldn't NEED it explaining coz we would have ALREADY done it ALL. ! ! ...
The NOW being history by the time we talk about it...! .,
I think we're concentrating so much on typing out and when we come to the end we omit to press the submit reply button particularly if it's not in sight.
shaws I did press it, and I did see it post .
The thing I do find awkward is the close proximity of the cancel button to submit when replying to post.
I'm tired I guess.
Pp
Oh, exactly! How many times have I clicked on Cancel instead of Submit reply!!! It's so easily done.
I've forgotten a few times particularly if I've also put in quite a long excerpt/link.
Yes .. Only to come across the post//answer several hours later ... Or even the next day .. ! !
What must people think ? ? ...
Lol

That happens t me too. I think it's because of some of the things I'm doing - like if I edit to get rid of the typos that appear after I've checked my reply and found none - then I think I must hit the cancel button by accident.
I think a few people compose off line then cut and paste - you will need t get your son to show you how. It's quite easy once you know.
I also go through spells - usually after I have lost a long reply or post - where I click on 'select all' and copy before I send it off but then I have a run of nothing happening and gradually stop doing that - then of course it dies it again.
What is really annoying is when I lose the same post two or three tes - then I'm afraid I just give up. š
Well, how lucky am I then becaue I've never seen this mysterious cancel button you all refer to
If you replied to a specific response on a thread - using the Orange [ Reply ] button, you get [ Submit reply] and [ Cancel ] buttons.
If, however, you just reply to the original post using the black [ Reply ] box at the end of the whole thread, you do not see a Cancel button.
Your response appears at the end of the thread, not threaded properly, because you don't use the Orange [ Reply ] button.
Helvella I was actually submitting a new post.
I posted and saw it on the page and when I went to check for replies it was nowhere to be found.
I know about the submit reply button , my only complaint is the two cancel and submit buttons are so close.
Pp
Aha - so you're not all seeing ghosts!
I hate it when that happens!
