Been at the doctors got bloods took she said that I have an under active thyroid.. She sent me to a consultant at the hospital on Thursday who asked all the questions am I tired brittle hair bla bla bla, said I will need an MRI SCAN and other test done, .. That I was to go to the main desk and make an appointment for 2 mths time 17/12/15 then she will discuss all results and what will happen next, That was on Thursday and on Saturday a letter was in to go out to the hospital on Friday , now I'm in a panic thinking why so quick was only at you Thursday and letter in on the Saturday .. My minds running riot now .. Any advice. Why they are going so fast

Hi,

It might just be a simple matter that your tests are 'slightly out of range'. Usually they don't bother too much if they're in range and make an appointment for later on. Our hormone levels are important for us to feel well.

Welcome to the forum, Tink66.

If you have a swollen neck or throat your endo will want to measure your thyroid gland and see whether the imaging shows goitre (swelling), nodules or surface damage to the thyroid consistent with autoimune thyroiditis.

Have you been prescribed Levothyroxine in the meantime?
