If your weight is creeping up, it means you Don't have your Under-active thyroid Under control. Your FT3 is more than likely too low. Do you have copies of your latest blood tests to share with us? I doubt it's anything to do with what you eat.

Thank you for the reply , I live in Spain and they are very backward with the thyroid treatment so much so they only use levothyroxine , I use amour brought privately . They only test for TSH (0.25) and T4L 0.74 , I'm guessing this is not much help .

They are 'backwards' in most of the world! Before levothyroxine everyone was treated with Armour or its equivalent. But now they have a nice synthetic drug made by drug companies who NEED to recoup their investment we are told that Armour unsafe.

I take Thyroid-S which is similar to Armour, and my TSH is much lower than yours. That is because if you have adequate T3 in your system from the Armour, you don't need any more and your TSH will be low. If you are gaining weight, and still feel tired then you almost certainly need a little more Armour.

Thank you for replying , I take 2 grains a day and feel OK , I do get tired sometimes but nothing compared to how I was before the armour , when I was on levo I thought my life was over and now I have a ' normal life " whatever that is apart from the extra weight and the emotional unstableness lol

I totally agree with Ruthi. You need an increase in Armour. Why do you think that your UAT is adequately controlled? If you Don't have an FT3 result you can only go by symptoms. And if you're still having symptoms (weight-gain), then you Don't have enough T3. Your TSH isn't even suppressed, which it probably would be if your FT3 was high enough.

Sorry to sound uninformed but firstly what is UAT ? second question my TSH is 0.25 is that not suppressed ? Thank you for taking the time to help me its really quite a complicated illness

UAT is Under-Active Thyroid. A TSH is suppressed when it's around 0.01. 0.25 is low, but not suppressed. :)
