I think everyone on this forum would agree with you. Hopefully, the Powers that Be will listen and take some action instead of us being left to flounder when the 'guidelines' don't guide us to good health.

It's fine for those who do o.k. on levothyroxine and their TSH makes the doctors happy and they remain well but not for those of us who don't. Those hypothyroid people will not be looking on the internet to find out that there is an alternative to levothyroxine or that some of us need a low or suppressed TSH.

That's very true. But it ain't gonna happen whilst Big Pharma rules suprime. They are the reason that we're kept sick and doctors ignorant. Because they would lose an awful lot of money if we got well. We are their cash cows, because doctors prescribe all manner of drugs to 'treat' the symptoms of low thyroid : statins, antiDs, weight-loss drugs, blood pressure drugs, PPIs, and beta blockers to name just a few! Can you imagine how much money they would lose if we no-longer needed to take all those? And they are the ones that dictate what doctors learn in med school, because they finance it all.

Yes, there has to be a revolution, but the fist target should be BP!

You have hit the nail on the head, GG.

One of the reasons I like my GP. He refuses to have gewgaws or free coffee mugs, pens etc. from Pharma Co's in his surgery. Instead he has pictures of his family (and dog and cat!) on his desk. I like that.

When I was a vet nurse, it was quite shocking the amount of palm greasing that used to go on from the Pharma Co's.

Totally agree in the re-training aspect for GPs .......and many endos too.

It's not as if thyroid problems are part of an unusual syndrome, it's becoming enormously widespread. I know that in America there is an element of finger pointing at the cause being the increased use of fluoride in drinking water (what a marvellous way to get rid of chemical waste eh? By poisoning your population).

Frankly I'm finding it very disturbing at the amount of suffering people are going through and SOME doctors should not be practising if they cannot be bothered to treat people holistically or be prepared to further their studies.
