I agree - he always talks sense.

Surely kasa 笠 rather than hat? :-)

(I had to search for that - I don't speak or know a single word of Japanese.)

But Kendrick has now got sufficient recognition from various sources (including many here) to actually have some power. Perhaps, like Jamie Oliver got taken up on school meals, he will get a position in which to exert influence?

Well, let's hope he does a better job than Jamie Oliver, then! lol

Yes, we have to hope. And hope that others will follow him, too.

greygoose,

I did think that but thought it unfair for me to say that because I do think he tried. He also seemed to have enhanced awareness in society regardless the impact within the system. In the end, though, I am sure we all would hope MK were more successful.

Sorry, yes, you're right. It's just that I got a JO cookbook for Christmas and I wasn't impressed. :(

I agree with every word of what this fantastic man says.

I have slightly high cholesterol (however, my ratio is wonderful according to my GP).

In spite of this, he decided to put me on statins. After 9 days, all this did for me was landed me in A&E. I felt dreadful, was in tremendous pain (chest pain) and kept collapsing to the ground on waking. Of course they found nothing wrong and I was discharged that evening,

it was only the next night when I was about to take my next statin that my husband gave me 'an old fashioned look' (those of you who are 'weary' of dealing with our NHS will know what I mean). He rushed for the information leaflet in the statins - low and behold- there were all my symptoms listed as 'side effects'.

The hospital doctor had not recognised any of this when i told her I had just started statins. It was a shock to me and i was amazed that all I had to do to stop collapsing was to stop the statins - wonderful. It was a bonus that all the other 'statin symptoms' ceased also.

I didn't take them that night, nor thereafter. I haven't had a single repeat episode of falling to the floor.

Reading this information from Dr Kendrick makes me thrilled with my 'high' cholesterol. I will carry on with my good diet and continue to try to improve my health (without the dubious assistance of statins).

I hope others find some comfort, as i did, from the words of Dr Kendrick and no longer worry about so called, high cholesterol. All things considered, your cholesterol, like mine, is probable fine.
