I believe Cynomel is made in France and Cytomel in the USA.

To tell you you have to wait till November seems years away when you're ill.

You may find cytomel a little stronger than cynomel. Cytomel if best one to get by all accounts but we all react differently to different brands. I had heard November was when cynomel was back! Yikes. X

The Mexican one is definitely stronger than Pfizer's.

Well if your body needs T3, then better a weak one than nothing at all.... can you get Tiromel or Aventis? Or you could do an NDT... not ideal but at least there's some T3 in them.

Just to be absolutely clear (saying that, I shall probably muddy the waters horribly):

There are several confusing names for liothyronine products.

Sanofi-Aventis Cynomel from France. (Sometimes you see only "Sanofi", sometimes only "Aventis". The overall company seems to have dropped "Aventis" but it still appears on many products.)

Sanofi also own Henning who make Thybon in Germany.

Pfizer own King who make Cytomel in the USA. So far as I know, every other mention of "Cytomel" is using the name "Cytomel" because so many people call all liothyronine cytomel - like hoover = vacuum cleaner. Many listings mention cytomel because of that and are not intending to deceive - but be careful.

Paddock, Mylan and Sigmapharm are USA makes which are very often referred to as "generic for Cytomel" - but the word "for" so often gets dropped...

Valeant of Canada own Tecnofarma, S. A. de C.V. who make Grossman Cynomel in Mexico.

Nice.

I have the cynomel from Grossman and I found it would make me quite lethargic and lazy when I was taking tiny bites and spreading out during the day. So.. now I have taken half a tablet in the am and my energy almost felt normal :) Then I take a 75mcg of T4.

Some of the information in this thread is now out of date. Please be careful not to assume it is current.

For that reason, I think it best to close it to further replies. For further discussions, please start a new post.
