Has anyone taken flaxseed capsules with thyroid problems, either hypo or hyper, and did you have any problems.
Also soy for meno, does that interfere with thyroid problems.
Any advice please. 😃

Flaxseed capsules? For why?
Flaxseed capsules help for a lot of things, constipation, joints, hot flushes.
Soy contains isoflavones, which are phytoestrogens ,plant-based estrogens which are supposedly great for menopause symptoms. However, Soy falls into a category of foods known as goitrogens , vegetables, grains and foods that promote formation of goiter -so states "thyroid.about.com".
I wouldn't take any soy products but I do use lots of flaxseed whole or ground. Whole is good for cleansing the intestines and ground is good for the omega oils. I make a mix called LSA which reports to provide the correct ratio of omega 3, 6, & 9. I make it by mixing 3 parts ground Linseed ( flaxseed), 2 parts ground sunflower seeds, & 1 part ground almonds. I have it in smoothies, or sprinkled on salads or yogurt & fruit.
ya, no soy...for thyroid...I now have mild lupus too apparently, so no alfalfa sprouts either...use to love them in sandwiches...
I have used the gel capsules for years (I don't have a thyroid gland) for joints hair skin etc. I also used the ground flaxseed in porridge, but even refridgerated it has a short lifespan, however I do use it past the date specified with no illeffects. My skin is great and have passed my 60th birthday.!!
Get flaxseeds, store in the freezer and grind enough for a week. Far better than capsules which contain unnecessary additives.
