Hi, I am hypothyroid (hashi), I had an ultrasound last December and it came back 'as expected'. Last night I noticed that I have a solid lump to the right of my thyroid which only moves when I swallow. I also think my hypo may be affecting my right eye. I am on 100mcg of levo. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Vix, It's peculiar how nodule lumps suddenly appear in the neck overnight. You need to see your GP to have the lump checked. Your GP should have had a fuller report than 'as expected' noting the size and condition of your thyroid gland, whether there are nodules, and if so, the size of the nodules. It's possible that the nodule is pressing on a nerve as its also your right eye that is affected.
Thank you for getting back to me, my eye has been effecting me for months but the doctors just look at me as if I'm nuts. It feels as though there is pressure behind my eye and the vision appears different compared to my left eye. When I had an ultrasound no nodules were present I was told I had a small goitre. The lump however is new, I know it seems bigger from the outside but it is visible and I would say its 3cm. To say I'm panicking would be an understatement! It is solid. I just can't believe how quickly this has all happened. I was only diagnosed in November and thought that once my tsh was under control I could relax........ Thanks for all of your advice Clutter, it is very much appreciated.
Vix, Please stop panicking If you didn't have nodules in Dec there's no way it's cancer. Thyroid cancers are incredibly slow growing and take years to develop. It's probably a cyst to have developed so quickly. It still needs looking at and you'll probably be referred to an ENT or endo for investigation. In the meantime, try not to prod and poke it or you'll make it sore and painful.
I think you should see an opthalmologist about your eye. It is possible to develop thyroid eye disease (TED) with Hashi's as well as Graves. If it is TED suppressing TSH can also damp down TED.
