Welcome Juan

I am sorry you have been diagnosed as hypothyroid at such a young age but am sure you will do fine when you get to an optimum of levothyroxine.

You should have had a second blood test around 6 weeks with an increase in medication and should do so until you feel well. If at any time you feel symptoms arising you should get a blood test.

You take levothyroxine with 1 glass of water on rising each morning and wait around 1 hour before breakfast. If you take supplements or other medication leave 4 hours between levo and those.

When you go for a blood test for your thyroid hormones, do not take levothyroxine before it, take it afterwards. Have the appointment as early as possible and always get a copy of your blood test results with the ranges for your own records and so that you can post if you have a query.

Also ask the doctor to check your Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate as we are usually deficient. If the doctor says your TSH is now in the normal range and wont increase levo, and you are still having symptoms, ask for a rise in medication. Sometimes if our TSH is in the 'normal' range many of us feel better if it is low, or suppressed but some doctors think that will give us more problems but it doesn't.

Best wishes.

Thank you and well my tsh was at 12.65 normal is 0.34 - 4.35 and after 5 days of levo it dropped to 5.15 then to 4 .34 . But when I visited the doctor he didn't change the med to higher dose but he is a very great doctor and basically goes by what I say , but I will recommend a higher dose , I need to check my vitamins tho that's what I need
