Hi,

Has anyone else had another request from a follower?

This is my second and after the furore the last time, I immediately deleted it. What are people doing about it?

Cheers Pp

PinkPeony, I don't think HU have introduced the facility to decline Followers yet. Have you simply deleted the notification email you were sent? Would you be kind enough to click on my profile and follow me so I can see whether it has changed and how it works?

Hi Clutter

Just deleted it. Have clicked to follow you

Thanks for your response.

Thanks PP, It hasn't changed, there's no ability to decline a Follower yet. You've deleted the notification email from HU but the follower will still be able to follow new posts you make.

You can 'UnFollow' me now if you want to :)

Thanks Clutter. Will do.

I don't bother as it may be that someone likes a particular reply/comment and wants to keep up with any other comments made. We are notified but I suppose the fact that we weren't notified about this new addition by HU it came as a surprise and a puzzle.

I must admit I was a bit surprised to get a message that someone was "following" me the other day - sounds a bit like a stalker LOL! I didn't know what it was all about but I guess this is it?

I don't like twitter for partly this reason - they have not chosen wisely.....

(Holy grail excerpt - Brian did not like being followed or Spike either... I like to detour)

Anyone know when admin will put the 'follower delete or accept 'facility in place? X

It's nothing to do with any administrators of the health problems. It is the actual site Healthunlocked which have put this facility in without notice or explanation.

Does this mean that they can read our profiles like we can read each other's Shaws ?

PP, HU can read profiles and posts but they can't access private messages.

Sorry Clutter

I meant can the "followers" read our profiles?

PP, yes, as can any member who doesn't Follow Poster.

It is good if members complete their profiles with a short history of their thyroid problems. It then enables others to look at the profile and not ask unnecessary questions and gives a hint to the responder of what's gone on before.

Hi Shaws,

Wrongly worded by me. Sorry.

So, same question re Healthunlocked site controllers.... anyone know when the system will allow options regarding allowing or accepting followers? Perhaps I should email direct?

Jellynpain, please use the Help button on the green HU banner or email support@healthunlocked.com to ask for info about opting out of Follow Poster. They've said it will happen but haven't said when.

Hi Clutter,

You've answered my query inadvertently.

Guess they will sort as soon as they can. There are a number of us hoping for the system change, from what I have read on posts.

They are more likely to get to things quickly if more people complain... :)

I don't understand why someone would not wish to be followed. We are all anonymous after all. I clicked to follow someone only last week in order to follow the answers given to a question they had posted which was of special interest to me.

Is this not what it is for? Apologies if I have offended anyone.

This thread was 3months ago and there was some suspicion that the followers weren't above board.

It's perfectly feasible to follow someone in our own community.

Flower, members can opt out of being followed now. You don't have to apologise for using a feature HU introduced without consultation anyway :)
