Folate/folic acid

is folate the same as folic acid?, my Dr won't prescribe even though my folate level is right of the bottom of the scale so will go buy my own, but thought I read somewhere that they are not the same, or have I just done too much reading?!

Catalonia, if you have low folate you need folic acid or methylfolate which is more expensive.

No, one is synthetic and one is found in food.
