multivitamin: hi all can anyone suggest a good... - Thyroid UK
multivitamin
I completely understand and sympathise, I feel exactly the same.
The problem with Multivitamins is that they are a sort of jack-of-all-trades and master of none. In other words, if you have a deficiency of a particular vitamin, for example vitamin D or B12, it's likely that a multivitamin just won't have enough to restore you to normal levels.
I can't think of any which would be any different, but what do I know. Someone on here may well have knowledge of a really good multivitamin.

thanks Marie i hope so x
Hi I get fed up of all the pills as well but I agree with marram and it's a small price to pay to get your health back
if the basic ones could be in a mulit vit form then all the others could be sourced separately that would help as I'm sure i'm not taking everything I need and there are so many + one minute selenium is recommended then next it could be harmful over long periods so many conflicting messages re vitamins its confusing
I understand but most vitamins we need don't come in high enough strength in multi vitamin form ..I myself take vitamin c 2000mg ..vitamin d 3 5000....b12 1000..as you see the strength could not be accommodated in a multi vitamin. ...I also take coconut oil ...selenium and zinc and methyl folate ..also of course my levothyroxine and my t3 ..also nd god help me if I need antibiotics ...but as I say I know I'm taking correct quantities in this way
You can of course take 3 Brazil nuts a day rather than worry about selenium tablets ..works just the same but can't do you any harm
apparently not if you read 'hashimotos root cause' it says that the amount in Brazil nuts varies too much and can be contaminated by GI and is not recommended
Hi, only just saw your question as I've just replied to someone regarding a good multi-vitamin. If you are still looking for one look at Dr. Sarah Myhill's website which contains very good information on vitamins and minerals - she also sells an every-day multi-vitamin and you could top this up with whatever extras you need doctormyhill.co.uk.
Also see the Nutrishield website nutrishield.com - they also have very good information on vitamins etc. and sell a high-quality & affordable vitamin/supplement combination they produce themselves (a recovered ME sufferer recommended them to me as a cheaper and better alternative to individual ones as they are synergistically produced and constantly updated according to the latest scientific insights by Dr. Paul Clayton. They also publish regular updates and newsletters on the latest science).
