Welcome to the forum, Sandra.

We need a little more information before we can help you. Can you post the results of your recent thyroid function blood test with the lab reference ranges and tell us whether you're taking thyroid medication, and if so, how much?

This is so me! Every morning I wake up and all day long I can't wait to go to bed. I have to get through my tasks of the day but only wish to sleep.

Dr says I'm fine. Won't consider that anything is wrong. Had thyroid after tsh test, only ever tsh and always normal ( 1.36 to 2.67). I'm always constipated. I've recently had a flexisigmoidiscopy where they found a first degree haemorrhoid and blood up the left side of my colon. In my opinion the haemorrhoid is the symptom of years if having to (sorry TMI) pull out the poop by hand. I live on tablets. I can go 10 days and not go to the loo! Staff after flexisigmoidiscopy said "eat a better diet" think it was cause I'm 5 stone overweight. I have trouble exercising as everything goes black and I almost pass out or go very dizzy. I think this is due to .... cortisol problems but still dr says it's normal ( early 9am test 195nmol where the range starts at 185nmol)! Dr C says it's not normal and I need hydrocortisone but my dr and an endo says everything fine!

I have b12 deficiency that they only treat with 1 jab every 12 weeks (I top this up in between but sometimes don't have the energy to be bothered to do that), I have vit D deficiency (dr says everyone probably does so what's your problem!), I've been anaemic on and off for over 20 years. I suffer with depression, when it's really bad I suffer from paranoia and I think probably a bit delusional, constantly in tears. I've been this way since since the birth of my kids. I've tried 2 different types of tablets and both numb me so much that life is just wishy washy.

I would also add that maybe along with all the tests above you ask for cortisol too. Early morning pre 9am.

I used to suffer with constipation, I started taking food grade DE. Diatmatious Earth FOOD grade. I put a couple of teaspoons in one of those little bottles of Yakult, I have to take a little sip out first. It works it is I expensive lots of other health benefits. I used to use senocot but to explosive!! Hope that part helps. Hope you get better hon. X

Senna doesn't work for me at all no matter how many tablets I take! Even picolax took 7 hours before it even started to work. I was worried that the flexisigmoidiscopy wasn't going to be able to be carried out as the 2nd lot of picolax hadn't worked at all. It wasn't until after my flexi that it started to work, 5 1/2 hours later.

I know those things didn't work for me either, like two extra strength senocot sometimes would not do it. Try the DE hon. It won't hurt you and you will be surprised. Take it everyday. X x

I would consider adding in Triphala for the constipation aswell. Often times with hypo everything slows down including the bowels. Triphala is an ayurvedic combination of herbs that helps with peristalsis....the muscular movement of the bowels and is not a laxative. It can be taken long term without any problems. It helps to tone the bowels.

I agree with the other responses that you should check D, B12 and of course your iron and ferretin as these symptoms can overlap. I dont know your diet but you may also be deficient in general in the B vitamins so a good quality B complex could also help.

Good luck!.

Hi Sandra, Just to add to the excellent list above of things that might help - your Adrenal glands may have become exhausted. If your doc is the sort who will test for things, then get him/her to test for that too. However, it will do no harm to acquire an 'adrenal support' supplement (Amazon have a choice) and take that. If your thyroid is on the fritz (you don't say if you have a thyroid condition) it is easy to become deficient in vitamins and minerals (and Adrenal activity) - and, of course, never know it until one realises one has been dragging through one's day, every, day, for a year. Or more. Sympathies.

Hi Sandra

I get a weekly digest and rarely get the chance to get to the end of it so sorry for the delay in responding to your post.

Please don't take this the wrong way but you have to help yourself. Maybe your GP won't help you, often becuase he doesn't have the knowledge but that doesn't mean you are consigned to continue feeling like cr*p 24/7.

Unfortunately it isn't enough to find yourself completely outraged or hamstrung by the lack of knowledge / assistance the medical profession often provide. There are alternatives and you have made a great start in reaching out to the HU thyroid forum. Join Thyroid UK, read some books on hypothyroid / adrenal fatigue and then look for a GP who is prepared to help or begin your own journey back to health. Stop The Thyroid Madness may be a US written book, but as many of us self medicate with US meds., so what ? Living well with hypothyroidism by Mary Shomon and

James Wilson's Adrenal Fatigue in addition to reading through a regular digest on here will get you started.

There are many wise and wonderful heads to help you here. The administrators particularly are a wonderful source of knowledge and experience. There are many other contributors who are happy to reach out and help you.

But the first thing you have to do, using my own experience (((Sandra))) is take ownership of what ails you and seek to heal it.

I wish you joy in your search and determination and hope for your future well being.
