I think it depends what is being tested. Blood sugar is obviously affected by whether you have a fasting test and cortisol may be affected. I'm not sure about thyroid tests but I wouldn't have thought it would make as much difference as the time of day does. Cholesterol is supposedly not affected by whether you have fasted or not.
I have had fasting and non fasting thyroid tests and the results were almost identical.
Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Hi I am not longer allowed any fasting tests. Having looked into it with my Endo, results seem to be identical eg cholesterol and Hb1Ac.(Diabetes) The only different one is Glucose as effected by food. Not a good test any way.
Best wishes,
Jackie
Hi The only time I had fasting blood test was for Cholesterol test and was told it was the only way to get accurate reading.
I found it made no difference to my TFT when I've had a fasting blood test it does of course make a difference to glucose and they tend to do cholesterol as a fasting test but I don't know why that would make a difference.
thanks everyone for the info, got the results today and everything is normal.I guess I must be just a normal person then.touch wood I haven't felt unwell for ages so my dose must be ok i take it at night with my other meds, seems to be working.
