hi kezza999, will taking 75 of thyroxin already affect my blood test. I have polymyalgia rheumatica, seemingly this is associated with hashimotos x

Hi,no if you are being tested for hashimotos the thyroxine won't affect the level of antibodies. It will affect your tsh,t4 and t3 though. Because polymyalgia rheumatica is an inflammatory condition, your body will be producing cytokines which can stop your thyroid working properly. If you test negative for hashimotos I suggest looking into ways to lower your inflammation with things such as diet and supplements.

In fact I suggest altering your diet and taking supplements (if you aren't already) anyway. Lots of people have been able to control inflammatory conditions with these things alone.

Hi Kezza999, do you know any links to anti inflammatory diets. x

If you do a google search, you will find lots of info on it. Generally speaking the big no no's are gluten and dairy. You should look into something called functional medicine,it's practitioners that work with people to get their full health optimal. They know lots about nutrition for specific conditions.

try reading robb wolf "the paleo diet" or terry wahls "the wahls protocol" both about auto immune disease which is Hashimoto's for thyroid patients. If you have raised TPO antibodies you may well have Hashi's and need to avoir gluten and dairy. By avoiding them I have reduced my TPO antibodies
