I think the poster may be referring to the email notifications from this site..

To unsubscribe, you need to change your communication settings....

Go into your account (click on your name in the top banner to find the link to your account). Then click on the edit button next to "Contact Preferences".

Then take the ticks out of the various boxes. Then click on the red Done box.

You probably need a better or more up-to-date security system on your computer. I used to get loads of spam ( not from here because I only joined this year) then switched to McAfee. No problems now.
