Hi Yes it really can. The FT3 needs to be middle of range, both too high, even in range and too low can cause the problem. T4 should only be in the top third of range.A.F can begin at any age. thyroid disease can bring on early onset of A.DF. it is important for her to be under a good arrhythmia Cardio and a good Endo. She must have the correct treatment including Warfarin, vital, there is lots of other treatment too.usually can be well controlled and treated.Sher must take great care to ensure her electrolytes are always in range,Potassium, sodium ( U`s and E`s, kidney)separately magnesium and calcium ( special care if on vit D).Fine in food but any treatment must be under medical supervision for electrolytes.Try not to worry, i have always had it and now old. Please make sure she has the correct treatment.

Many thanks Jackie I have passed all your info on to my daughter it has been a very worrying time I am about to see cardio with a view to shocking my heart as it is in permanent AF I am on warfarin but dread the thought of my daughter going on it so young ,as her thyroid op damaged the blood supply to her parathyroids so she is on calcium meds for life which causes her problems she is now on 125mg of levoroxine but woke up this morning with palpitations again after the consultant told her it was the T3 that caused the AF and she would not have the problem again we are looking for a good endo as the last 2 were not really informative at all thanks again Pauline
Hi It is the least serious cardiac condition but vital to be treated properly. Cardio vert which you are having, takes but a few mins under a G.A. However, it does not of
ten work. No problem as the better slightly more invasive teatment is amaze, new name for it. it has been done many years and helps a lot of people. You still need to take the drug, incase it returns. maze is a local with a catheter to the heart, through a vein, shocking the "bad "bit of the heart.A.F is hereditary.\
i am not sure where you live but I do have a wonderful Endo, if interested e mail me. Sat clinic at leamington Spa do see her privately but not expensive, tests etc can all be done through GP, so you just pay for the consultation.
If I can help in any way send me a PM, just click on my name.Try not to worry but she must have the correct cafe.Even some ignorance amongst Caerdiacs, hence needs to be an arrhythmia cardio
Best wishes to both,
Jack,ie
