my daughter has just been diagnosed and has a T... - Thyroid UK
my daughter has just been diagnosed and has a TSH of 0.01 - Is this really low or still acceptable? Thanks
Mine was undetectable at 0.05 but all ranges are different. I don't really understand results but I'm sure someone who does will help good luck x
I only know from mine - I was <0.03 (0.35 - 5.5 ) and that was pretty low. I felt better when I reached 0.68 (same ranges)
What are her lab ranges and what was her T4 or even T3 if she had that done and how does she feel?
On my lab range 0.35-4.2 that would be considered suppressed. I felt very unwell when I was that suppressed. Generally only thyroid cancer patients are suppressed <0.1 to avoid recurrence.
Does your daughter have Graves?
waiting for an endo appointment but wondered if it was worth going privately
Hi louise I am no expert but my tsh was same as your daughters and I was started immediately on medication.Yes its far too low and no wonder she feeld so poorly I did too. With medication mine is now much more normal and I am starting to feel better.Has she not been put on any treatment? As an indicator I waited 7 weeks to see an endo but it varies depending on where you live. The NHS guidelines state you must be seen within 18 weeks of referral. It is important for your daughter to know there is treatment and she will het much better.Do let us know how she goes on.....kim
