It's low but not as low as some on here so dont panic.

My level was 12.5 and my GP put me on a two week 50,000iu course, which came from the hsp, and six weeks after I had finished the supplements she re-tested my levels, which had gone up to 84.

I have since had another one week course of 50,000iu given to me by my endo as my levels had dropped again, but only to the 30's.

Low vitd will also have an inpact of your calcium levels so make sure your GP keeps an eye on these and tests them at regular intervals.

You should feel a much improved energy level once this is sorted out and please get her to also check your B12, iron, ferritin and folates if he/she hasn't already done so.

Thanks so much Moggie, if it wasn't for this site and you I would have carried on thinking this is normal. I just don't get why we are not getting these tests offered to us if we say we don't feel right. It's only because I went in forceful that he took notice. I don't think I've had those other tests done so I shall ask for them Tuesday. Do you think this is what is causing the brain fog, tiredness, depression, cold, mood swings and loss of libido? Thanks karen x

Low Vitd and low B12 can mimic thyroid symptoms so all what you are discribing can be caused by low vitamin levels as well as thyroid illness which is what makes it so complicated.

Low iron can make you extremly unwell and your energy levels are almost non existent. I felt really bad when I had low iron so make sure you get all that I mentioned tested.

Low vitamins can also stop your thyroid medication from working properly. Since I have corrected my low iron I have had to REDUCE my levo twice because I kept going over medicated.
