I have sore swollen glands in the left side of my neck, the pain radiates right down my neck, lower and upper jaw and around my eye socket. Also suffering headaches. I have been on antibiotics for a week now and no improvement. Did have all these symptoms over the summer too and it took 7 weeks and 3 courses of antibiotics for the pain to clear but the glands never went down.
Hoping someone can help me please, thanks in advance.

Should also mention I have a lump in my throat that I am aware of when swallowing but my throat isn't actually sore, it's more on the outside that I am aware of it if that makes any sense.
Ask your GP to do a full thyroid function test if he's not already done so. Some will only do the TSH. You also need some of these on the following link:-
If or when you have had thyroid gland blood tests get a copy from the surgery, with the ranges, and post on a new question for members to comment.
Problems with the thyroid gland can run in families and your GP should consider this. If he is unwilling ask to be referred to an Endocrinologist so that your swollen glands can be checked.
