Will having a total thyroidectomy early this year affect my chances of conceiving or any subsequent pregnancies later in the year?

You'll have a much better chance than an undiagnosed or undertreated hypothyroid woman

It might be a lot more difficult to conceive unfortunately, my husband and i have been trying for 3 years with no joy, however i know of someone that has had a tt in the mid 70s and had no thyroid replacement for years and managed to get pregnant twice no problems without any levothyroxine at all in 76 and 82. But it is generally believed you want your tsh at 1 or below to make it easier to conceive
