I have read on this site that Ferritin should be above 70. Can someone please advise where this data is from.
My level is 65 ug/L (5 - 148) and of course my GP said it is normal and within range. How do I convince him otherwise.

Here's one source and both my GP and endo where not surprise that my TSH and FT4 levels have altered due to my iron now being optimal.

Hi Mine is lower than this but higher than GP wanted , Endo. However, the important thing is what you are absorbing. I have a serious medical problem which prevents absorption, so I only absorb 5%. This is way too low. So, I have extra to compensate. Beyond GP`s understanding. The absorption test is not done NHS unless asked for specifically. It has to be written on the blood form at the too when having the test
If worried have more iron rich food, safer too..
B12 done with Foliates, does have to be really high in range, especially if have thyroid disease..
Best wishes,
Jackie
