Hi Do remember that just because thyroid disease is common, a lot of GP`s think they can treat it. Find a good Endo, yourself. TYou probably need a lot more thyroxine , T4 and probably T3 as well, depending on results. Always ask for results + ranges, receptionist, or hospital, sec. Routine, the best ones give you them regardless of asking., Also ask fur an urgent referral. Mean while insist on a TSH, T4 and Free T3test, any alteration in treatment should be followed by a retest of all 3 in 6 weeks Your TSH is dangerous, sorry to be blunt, but vital for you to take some action.Your body and how you feel but Hypo and hyper have similar symptons, sonmetimes. The blood results are what really is most important.

Best wishes,

Jackie

What is the normal range for your FT4 result of 26? You don't say what your symptoms are. Some people would feel well on an FT4 level of 26 if the range for that result was 10-22. Having a TSH level of 0.01 will upset some doctors but a lot of hypo people don't feel well unless their TSH level is down at 0.01. Mine is 0.23 and the doctor is saying I am overmedicated but by symptoms I am slightly under medicated, and my FT4 is only 16.
