Will the Yellow Card scheme ever take action ag... - Thyroid UK
Will the Yellow Card scheme ever take action against the poor quality T3 we're getting? It's directly affecting our health.
Good question Totoro. There doesn't seem to have been an update on this since end of June when they emailed Thyroid UK to say
Just to update you our Defective Medicines Reporting Centre (DMRC) are in the process of collecting samples from patients who have reported these batches to us via the YellowCard scheme. We have some samples already and are awaiting a few more. Once we have all the samples, our lab will carry out an investigation.
Would have thought something might have happened by now
I was wondering the same, seems a long time without any more feedback.
I'll give them a nudge!
Hi folks - I have had this conversation, this morning, with the Medicines Information Dept at the nearest City Hospital regarding exactly this point.
I let them know others are also finding 81171 and 81377 Mercury pharma ineffective and that I personally find Grossman version far better. I have written to my endo and GP saying the same.
The chap in Medicines Info, as always helpful, says best way forward is to write as well as submit yellow cards to MHRA but that this may be more effective if we had a named contact.
He said the Chief Medical Officer would only pass on any letters sent to her regarding medication.
I also let him know the enormous disparity in costs and he like ourselves thinks this is due to the monopoly that Mercury pharma seem to exercise in UK
Does Thyroid UK have a named contact we could write to ? Thanks
Forgive me for bumping an old thread but I wondered if anything had been heard back from the Yellow Card scheme as yet? Every time I start a new batch I worry I'll get another bad one.
Thanks,
Totoro x
