Has anyone had a myocardial heart scan?

Hello guys, I've had a scary episode of crushing chest pain and been referred for the above scan. Has anyone on here had one? Does it it hurt? Did you have any side effects? any tips on what to expect? Thanks x

Hi Is it a nuclear scan? I think so, it would only be in the nuclear dept if so. you have a radio active injection, no problem , feel a bit hot, no side effects.

It's a radioactive scan and the only discomfort is you have to keep still for about 20 minutes with your hands above your head which is uncomfortable. Plus if it is a stress test as well you will either have to go on the bike for a bit in the middle of the test. If it is the full thing it will take about 5 hrs with lots of waiting in between so take a book.
