I can only state personal experience. I went into symptoms of hyper a while ago and decided to give everything a miss (silly me ) for as long as it took to feel ok again. I stopped the levo and felt better the first day and half of the second, then started feeling ill. It took me over a week to recuperate. I don't get on well with levo and have reduced from higher numbers down to 50mcg. Was taking t3 but even the lowest dose made me sweat and suffer palpitations. Thinking now of going back on Nutri adrenal and Nutri thyroid which seemed to compensate the lower dose of levo....but I wouldn't stop it completely ever again. P.s. I have hashimoto's
Hi It really does not effect the overall treatment by missing one tablet. Have you had a recent blood test for TSH, T4 and Free T3? If your levels are not right,,you will feel terrible. Treatment for thyroid takes a long while to get right, frequent blood tests and alterations in meds at that time. Also common to need some T3 as ideally FT3 should be near the top of range.
The more of this kind of problem I read, the more I think Dr. Clark is right. Treating Hashimoto as an autoimmune condition rather than strictly a thyroid problem. Check it out if you wish. youtube.com/watch?v=nZ_CP7l...
