I was - and the NHS shouted me down and told me i wasnt. See the patient information leaflet for a long list of contra indications. For me, mainly gut issues and very obvious CF caused by absence of optimal thyroid functioning. I switched myself to ndt and havent looked back. At least this way i have control i determine my dose based on symptoms, rather that some overpaid NHS GP who wants you in and out in 10 minutes and has no incentive to listen to you

Hi bluedaffodil

I know that if I tell my GP that I am not coping with Levo, they will just reduce the dosage, which makes me feel even worse. I was started two years ago on 125mgs Levo and have stayed on it ever since, my online prescription ordering chart, states that I am due a review on the 7th September 2012!! I get a lot of the side effects including quite bad palpatations, tummy troubles, and sweating.

What is ndt, where do you get it from, and how do you know what to take, I would like to try it myself!

Hi I was, tried 4 times different makes. I have to have armour but have to have a private script. For any drug, except things like cardiac and antibiotic, always start on a fraction of the prescribed dose and gradually build it up. This is particularly useful for Statins and T3.

best wishes,

Jackie
