I have been putting weight on since my thyroxine was increased from 125mg to 150mg. Also my body temperature is all over I can be freezing cold one minute, then I can be too hot. I have been through the menopause so it's not that.

Can you gain weight by increasing your thyroxine??
Unfortunately, some can gain weight with hypo as the metabolism is very slow. You could also be undermedicated so if you have had a recent thyroid gland blood test post them on a new question complete with the ranges as labs differ.
Dr Lowe and some researchers have come to a similar conclusion and this is a link:-
Sounds as if they haven't put your dose up enough. I've never heard of a higher dose of thyroxine putting weight on.
Don't be too quick to dismiss the menopause as a contributing factor. The 2 conditions mimic each other to a degree. Some women never lose the hot flushes. In some it takes years. Some never get them. My thyroid troubles coincided with the menopause (and it was a coincidence), but I do think those two horses have been galloping along together ever since, reinforcing each other. I was consistently too hot during the menopause. Now, like you, I sometimes get cold for almost no reason (or if I'm overtired, which happens very easily now). My temperature control is pretty much busted! Don't know what we do about that. I live in layers of clothing these days and quite often find I'm down to my vest (make sure it's a pretty vest ...) :o)
