With breathing issues I would always wish to consider whether you could be low in vitamin B12 (pernicious anaemia). Or have iron deficiency anaemia.

Have you had any blood tests for iron, or B12, or even a normal Full Blood Count?

Have you got any other blood test results?

But what blood tests were they? Did they include B12? Or FBC? Or Iron?

Very good if your thyroid tests were "normal" but few here would accept that - numbers and reference ranges are needed.

My breathing improved within a couple of weeks after a 25mcg increase of thyroxine. I wasn't taking any other medication or supplements so for me it was definitely linked to being hypo.

Shortness of breath can be caused by hypothyroidism &/or B¹² deficiency. I'm awaiting ferritin (iron), vitD, folate & B¹² serum tests and spirometry/lung function tests but have noticed my breathing has eased since I stopped taking T⁴ & replaced it with T³ 10 days ago.

Clutter,

Your use of superscripts makes your posts incredibly difficult to read on small screens such as phones. Of course, it might only be me...

Hello,

It most certainly can be connected, you can also get it with certain Vitamin Deficiencies & Adrenal Fatigue.

Has the shallow breathing come about since your T4 medication, if that is the case, maybe look into T3.

Best wishes

I had terrible breathlessness for years before my underactive thyroid was diagnosed. It improved when that was treated, and I wasn't taking B12 or iron at the time. And I went hypo again recently while switching from thyroxine to T3 and then to desiccated thyroid and I had quite a bit of breathlessness again. Hope you feel better soon.
