thyroid problems dismissed as old age?

Iv`e read that many symptoms of hypothyroidism are similar to ageing, like stiff joints, cold sensitivity, etc. I really believe that many doctors are dismissing these things as old age, maybe that`s why this condition is under diagnosed.

I feel discriminated against due to my gender and age! Up until I became hypo, I was pretty fit for my age having spent 20 years doing outdoor pursuits.

Doctors just seem lazy to me!
