Do you mean your have hypothyroidism? and not hyperthyroidism. Usually, patients with hypo are given levothyroxine.
I see your TSH levels are reducing and your GP should do a blood test about every 4 to 6 weeks, increasing your levo to bring your TSH below 1.
Hypothyroidism affects everything in your body, especially menstrual/female problems. Once you get sorted out, things should come back to normal. Always get a copy of your blood test results complete with the ranges, so that you can put them in another question for comments.
You can feel quite ill until your medication is sorted out and you feel well again.
yer sorry, hypo on levothyroxine 75 a day, just got back in from hospital and will no more when all the tests come back, and seeing gp 29 july to have dose put up a little [when i have bloods done again] not feeling as good as i did maybe the weather x
Hi balla
Unfortunately it does take a while to get to an optimum level of levo (T4) before you begin to feel better. When you next get your blood test, don't take your meds before it, take them afterwards. Get the test as early in the morning as possible. The medication should be increased gradually. If you still don't feel too good, make sure your GP aims for a TSH of 1 or below - not to keep you within the reference range. We can provide evidence if your GP is unaware of this.
Take your meds before breakfast with a glass of water and breakfast about 1/2 to 1 hour later.
