Hi No it should not be so. Ask for a print out with ranges of your results. Also you need a TSH,T4 and Free T3 test. Always take thyroid and Beta Blocker meds after a blood test, not before. If GP will not do all 3 , you can pay on line.I suspect it may be that GP is going by TSH, or possibly that and T4, not a good indication of how the thyroid is. Also make sure the other related tests ( GP) are OK, especially vit D, hormonal, if low then corrected calcium before treatment. It can be another hormonal issue. Thyroid tests the clue. If bloods are wrong or / and you do not feel well, then the treatment is not right.
Best wishes,
Jackie
HI thanks for that...it was TSH she went by which went from 0.07 in april to 0.04 two weeks ago and i am on reduced meds for 8 weeks as she said i was going from hypo to hyper...had hysterectomy 13 yrs ago with ovaries gone too and through the menopause now so not that,,,calcium was ok and so was iron...was on this low dose 75 before and had anxiety and they put me up to 100 and i was lot better...paid private on thursday to have full bloods done and pack arrived from blue horizon yesterday so getting bloods done in the morning and sending off as they said do do it on a friday as blood lies all over weekend!!!.....then see what happens.....i have anti depressants to take but dont think they are doing anything for me after 8 weeks on them.....will i ever feel normal again lol...x
The difference between 0.07 and 0.04 is far less than the variation most people have within a day.
If you want your TSH to show at its highest, then always have the blood drawn as early as possible in the day. I aim for 08:00 at my local hospital but this is not possible for everyone.

My Tsh is around this but gp has allowed me to stay on this dose as free t4 is still well within range do you know your ft4 and ft3?

I suffered terrible anxiety attacks when my GP lowered my thyroxine.
I had worked for years after being thyrotoxic to overcome my agoraphobia, only to have the doctor do that to me...now I am back to square one again, have to start all over again to learn how to go out alone without anxiety and panic attacks. There is absolutely no doubt that anxiety is a symptom of poorly treated thyroid problems, whether over- or under-active.
Things are improving now that my thyroxine is back where it was. I now have to get my husband to take me places and leave me to get home alone! That was how I started before.
I am also sure that over a long period of time anxiety becomes a learned response and as such can be unlearned. fingers crossed
oh poor you....yes i find that i was tearful for no reason when i was hyper and anxious when hypo...i try and deal with it.....have a few big events due in end july and hopefully a holiday which is good fun as i dont fly...go by car and boat( live in Northern Ireland)....dont like being too far away and the car is a comfort blanket......been in Blackpool past two years as i know it well and feel comfortable there but i am scunnered with the place lol......the anxiety goes away after tea time for some reason....have sent my bloods off to day to Blue Horizon so see what happens with Thyroid tests......I have a neighbour who does massage and she comes once a week and does my back....40 mins of bliss ....she suffers with panic attacks too so we are a right pair and she is from Poland so does not know many people here poor girl..i dont drink or smoke so this is my treat £15 once a week!!!!!...my mum is on 75 one day and 100 the next and i think so should I as 75 to low and 100 bit too much every day.......x
