no it's not normal

it may be something simple like piles (haemorrhoids), but sometimes it is not and it is something else which needs investigating and potentially more serious.

you need to go and see your GP and he/she will want to take a look in that area (very important for them to do this, but I am just warning you so that you are prepared)

Hi,

I also was going to mention piles as I also suffer with them, but or me when I have my period is also a time I bleed from the rear as well. I'm hypo by the way. So far nothing has been done for me other than some piles cream every now and then.

Still I would report to the dr asap as it could be something more serious.

Hope it helps

I used to bleed from the back passage too when I had my periods. My periods were also very heavy from the age of 12 until they finished when I was 51. Thank goodness they are long gone now.

Hi, I am over active and also bleed and the doctors will give you fybrogel to soften the bowels and hopefully stop the bleeding.

Get yourself checked out to make sure its not the worst but changes in bowel habits and bleeding can be associated with hyperthyroidism and the medication we're on.

Good luck x

With an overactive thyroid it is common to have diarrhoea most of the time, if that is the case with you, then you could have burst a small blood vessel in your back passage.

You don't say how long you have been passing blood, but if it is any length of time, (more than a week or so) you ought to tell the doctor, because it can make you anaemic, anyway. He would be able to tell by examining you if it is a little tear in a blood vessel which has failed to close up.

hello being hyper means blood is pumping round your system very fast and a tear or fissure in anus will bleed and may not stop

its important to see your gp to check this however

i m hyper and on ptu and have to mention to my dentist when ever i go in case any treatment causes bleeding

also i bled a lot when i had acupuncture and needed to hold a tissue there for a while after!

the joys of hyper thyroid

hope you get this sorted soon
