Interesting research article on testing visitors to a Thyroid Health Fair in Michigan for hypothyroidism

I've never heard of a thyroid health fair before - something we could perhaps do with in the UK.

Surely people would only attend such a fair if they had already been diagnosed, or suspected they had problems, or, perhaps, were accompanying an affected family member? This would skew the results of the survey.

Yes, you're right, although the authors do acknowledge this. I was just very taken with the idea of a thyroid health fair and a thyroid awareness week especially as the latter would also be a good opportunity to raise the awareness of health professionals!

I'm not sure what a Health Fair is, but we are planning our next Conference for Oct 2014, which is a chance to get together with fellow thyroid people, listen to talks about various subjects and visit some trade stands which may be helpful.
