How to take breaks at work?

TheGreatestShowman profile image

Looking for advice how people with IBS take breaks at work? Worked, 11am-6pm and my break was at 4pm (30 minutes). When resumed to work my stomach was throbbing and like a balloon.

Hi, I think since your break is only 30 minutes, I find having something light is best for me . Also you could ask your employer for a longer break maybe 45 minutes. Also take buscopan after eating if if you can tolerate it. I find whenever I eat especially lunch time , my stomach does bloat and uncomfortable feeling. Also see if its possible you can take your break earlier , explain to your employer your condition. Hope you feel better soon

Thank you very much for your reply. Absolutely, I was nervous about it. So, I had nuts. I'll see if can have a meeting with my Manager.

Hi, does your employer know about your condition? If not, park any embarrassment and let them know. If you have a medical condition, they should make a 'reasonable adjustment'. Obviously, if they are unaware of your struggles, they can't do this. Easier said than done, but worth the effort. Perhaps ask a colleague for some support if you are nervous about it. Good luck.

Unfortunately, my manager is not aware. I'll see to have a meeting with my manager to discuss it. Thank you very much.

have you tried solving it with vitamin d and adequate nutrients by getting the RDA of essentially minerals like magnesium.

Well, I take vitamin D3 and D gummies and magnesium vitamins , unfortunately, doesn't help my IBS symptoms at all.

How much are you taking. How much sun bathing do you get in summer months.

One vitamin D3 and one general vitamin D. Hardly any sun bathing.

That will bebe the case then. I assume your D3 is probably 1,000IU per tablet. the human body requires much more IU, 10,000 IU is produced within minutes in summer sun bathing, you need to be at least 50,000IU in winter , especially if no stores from summer to see any affects.
